AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Amarillo Bulls are still in the hunt for the Robertson Cup.
After dropping the first two games of the series to the IceRays at home, they evened the series up on the road at Corpus Christi.
Monday night’s game was a winner-takes-all matchup back at the Budweiser Bullpen.
The game started out with an early Bulls goal by Brett Abdelnour, and another in the first period by David Ojamae. Corpus put one on the board before the end of the first period to make it 2-1.
After a scoreless second period, the IceRays pulled their goalie to have six men on the ice in an last-ditch offensive effort with 1:20 left in the third.
Logan Jenuwine pushed the puck into wide open space in front of a Corpus Christi goal, just in time for Alex Peterson to put it in the net to secure the win with just over 30 seconds on the clock.
The Bulls won the game 3-1. They advance to the second round of the Robertson Cup playoffs, and will face the Shreveport Mudbugs in the South Division Final. The first two games of that series will be held at the Amarillo Civic Center on Thursday and Friday night.
