AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - One of the drivers involved in last week’s wreck at Western Street and Hastings Avenue has died, according to officials.

The Amarillo Police Department was called to a two-car crash at the intersection of Western Street and Hastings Avenue on Wednesday, March 13.

Officials said a 17-year-old was traveling at a high-rate of speed on Western when it crashed into a car driven by 74-year-old Agnes Handley, who was pulling out of Hastings Avenue. The 17-year-old driver also had a 16-year-old passenger in the vehicle during the crash.

On Monday, APD confirmed that Handley died from injuries sustained during the car wreck.

The Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is still investigating.
