AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Texas Mission of Mercy, a mobile dental clinic that travels around the state providing free basic dental care to those with limited resources, is coming to Amarillo.
On March 29 and March 30, the clinic will be in Amarillo offering services to relieve pain and prevent infection by providing extractions, fillings and cleanings.
In some cases, replacing the clinic is able to replace missing front teeth or repair partial dentures to help restore a smile.
Patients will be seen on a first come, first served basis. The clinic will be stationed at the Amarillo Civic Center, and the clinic recommends that patients line up by 5:00 a.m.
The clinic’s goal is to serve 600 to 800 patients with about $600,000 worth of care, and the clinic says they cannot do so without the help of volunteers.
You do not need to be a Registered Dental Assistant to volunteer with the clinic. However, if you are RDA licensed, you are asked to bring a copy of your license or a State Board-issued copy.
You can become a volunteer by registering online here.
Only registered volunteers are allowed to participate.
