AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Panhandle FCA celebrated their 25th annual Victory Banquet this weekend at Heritage Ballroom.
The banquet is used as a fundraiser for the organization. They aim to make 50% of their operating budget from the silent auction.
Panhandle FCA serves 27 counties and over 55 area schools, as well as West Texas A&M.
This year’s keynote speaker was Anthony Lynn, current head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, and former Texas T.ech runningback.
Lynn spoke about his commitment to the FCA, and how the organization helped him as a young athlete growing up in Texas.
While in the Panhandle, Lynn also paid a visit to his alma mater. He met Tech’s new head coach, Matt Wells, and had nothing but good things to say about the new hire.
In addition, Panhandle FCA recognizes a male and female Athlete of the Year at the banquet.
Canyon High School’s Lawton Rikel won the male award, and Groom’s Sydney Ritter won the female award.
