CANYON, TX (KFDA) - The Canyon ISD Ambassador Program is an outreach of the Board of Trustees designed to facilitate communication between the Canyon Independent School District and community.
The program works to prepare current members of the community to serve as district advocates, educate the community on lesser-known aspects of public school function and operation, provide an overview of the wants and needs of our growing district and share accomplishments and positive news from within campus walls.
Ambassadors meet four times a year, and each meeting reviews a different department within the district.
Canyon ISD boundaries reach 732 square miles in comparison to Amarillo Independent School District that reaches 70 square miles.
District enrollment has grown by 2-2.5 percent annually.
Over the past seven years, Canyon ISD grew by 1,200 students, and over the next seven years, the district is projected to add another 2,000 students.
