Fires Set at Lamar Elementary

An Amarillo woman is in jail this evening after police say she intentionally set two fires at Lamar Elementary School.

Nada Mahamodo Musa is in the Randall County Jail on charges of arson to a place of assembly... That's a first degree felony.

Fire officials say one fire was started outside the school and the other in the school's main office. Both were set before most students arrived at school. Estimated property damage is around $750.

Classes were canceled on Tuesday but Lamar will open for classes again on Wednesday.
