A New Zealand-based company will be opening it's first U.S. branch in Portales.
Tamaki Control provides technical support for factory automated systems such as milk pasteurization and monitoring and powder handling and packaging for food processing factories.
The company was working on Southwest Cheese plant's automated systems when it decided to establish the Portales branch.
The company can also install automated processes for older factories.
The Roosevelt County Economic Development Corporation says the company will provide well-paying jobs for educated graduates in the area.
