Curry County Detention Center to Get Security Upgrades

Numerous high profile inmate escapees over the past few years prompts Curry County officials to make major security changes at the detention center.

County Commissioners approved $500,000 to be used towards some much needed upgrades.

That money will buy a new control board, a new intercom system, segregation cell improvements and a new detention center door.

New security cameras are planned as well, but nothing has been approved yet.
