CEDARVILLE, Ohio (AP) _ The president of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary says many Christians become timid and hide their faith when they're outside of church.
The Reverend Jeff Iorg spoke last week at an evangelism conference at Cedarville University. He said Cedarville, Golden Gate and other Christian schools should train students to be as secure and open about their faith in the outside world as they are among fellow believers. Instead, he says, many Christians try to escape their secular surroundings "as quickly as possible and as unscathed as possible and get back to the safety of the Christian bubble.'' When he isn't training seminary students, Iorg says he shares his faith while umpiring youth baseball and serving as chaplain for the San Francisco Giants.
