Proposed Tanning Regulation for Teens

Texas teens may soon be required to have a physician's consent before using tanning beds.

House bill 1310 would ban anyone under the age of 18 from using a tanning facility without a doctor's note specifying the number of visits.

The bill was reportedly filed due to concerns of skin cancer.

At least 29 states have passed similar measures.

The current law in Texas requires children under 13 to have physicians consent and anyone 15 or younger to have a parent present at the salon while tanning.
