Dumas Man Sentenced For 8th DWI Arrest

A Dumas man will spend the next 40 years behind bars after he is convicted of his eighth D.W.I. offense.

The 69th District Attorney's office says a jury found enough evidence Thursday to convict Vincent Friemel. Friemel's most recent DWI arrest occurred when a Dumas Police officer pulled him over while speeding through a school zone. Friemel refused to take a breath test, but a sample of his blood was taken and tested and it was nearly three times the legal limit.

He is being held in the Moore County Jail without bond. Formal sentencing is scheduled to take place on Monday.
