Grand Jury Finds No Evidence; Dick Death Investigation Over

The death of an inmate at the Potter County jail will not lead to any criminal charges against the county.

A grand jury found no wrong doing by Potter County jail officials in the death of Michael Dick.

This means the criminal investigation into Michael Dick's death on July 19th is over unless new evidence pops up.

Potter County District Attorney Randall Sims says the grand jury was shown evidence on the physical restraints used on Dick when jail officers tried to remove him from his cell and also evidence on when he was apprehended at the Santa Fe building a few weeks before.

They also looked at jail videotapes.

Sims says the grand jury was presented with two autopsies: one from the county and the other from an independent examiner hired by Dick's family.

The grand jury decided there was no evidence of wrong doing by those involved.
