Tascosa High School student behind bars

A Tascosa High School student is behind bars, after police say she filed a false report that forced the school to be placed on lockdown.

Amarillo police tell us 17-year-old Jessica Ruiz called Student Crimestoppers around 10:45 this morning claiming another student brought a gun to school and hid it in a locker.

Police searched the campus and did not find a gun and classes resumed at 12:30.

Ruiz was arrested for filing a false report which is a state jail felony.

She has been booked in the Potter County Correctional Center.
