Man Wanted For Murder to be Extradited to Texas

The man wanted for an Amarillo murder ten years ago will be brought back to Texas in the coming months, after being arrested on unrelated charges in New Mexico.

US Customs and Border Patrol arrested 30-year old Osvaldo Gallardo-Cadena near Santa Teresa, NM over the weekend for drugs, and he is currently in federal custody.

Local officials say an extradition date will not be set until Cadena is released from federal custody. He has a homicide warrant from the March 2001 killing of a Mexican National in East Amarillo.
