Guymon Crime Down 15%

Serious crimes in Guymon are down 15 percent over the previous year.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations says rape, robbery, larceny, and vehicle thefts all saw a decrease from 2007.

The largest increase was breaking and entering which was up 10 cases.

Felony assaults also saw a slight increase.

The report says homicides remained level with one from each year.

The Chief of Police Eddie Adamson said the decrease reflects how safe the city is, but wishes they could bring crime down even lower.
