Clovis Extends Great Lakes Contract

Commercial flights to and from Clovis will continue for two more years.

City commissioners voted unanimously to renew a contract with Great Lakes airlines for service from Clovis to Albuquerque. They agreed to the current terms of two daily flights between the cities.

The company asked for an almost $3 million subsidy from the department of transportation to pay for the air service, which could expand to include flights to Dallas.

Great Lakes started flying to Clovis in 2005.
