Stimulus Money to Texas

A state analysis breaks down some of the $17 billion that will be available to Texas in the federal economic stimulus package.

$6.2 billion will go toward education, including grants to schools for technology and special education.

Nearly $6 billion will help fund medicaid, food stamps, foster care and adoption.

Transportation will receive $2.7 billion for highway and bridge construction.

One billion will be given to each labor and housing to help aid job search assistance and training for adults and youth and also to help build affordable housing.
