Clovis man convicted of kidnap and rape

A Clovis man is facing up to 59 years in prison after he is convicted of kidnapping and rape.

A jury found 36-year-old Anthony Morgan guilty today of first degree kidnapping, criminal sexual penetration, aggravated assault and battery against a household member.

The conviction stems from an incident back in October, when an argument between Morgan and his girlfriend turned violent.

The district attorney says Morgan forced her into a car at gunpoint.

After assaulting her numerous times, he took her to a secluded place where he violently raped her.

The victim was held against her will for two days before Morgan released her.

He will be sentenced sometime next week.
