Portales Doctor Enters Plea

A Portales doctor accused of illegally prescribing methadone to an undercover agent pleads not guilty in a federal court in Albuquerque.

A narcotics task force began investigating Dr. Patricia Green last September on allegations she prescribed methadone for reasons other than managing pain.

Reports say an undercover agent went to Green for an exam to obtain a commercial driver's license and told her that he was addicted to heroin.

She reportedly cleared him to drive despite a ban on drivers who use controlled substances and prescribed methadone to him for pain even though he denied having pain.
