Rick Husband International Airport Renovations

The city commission approved spending almost 32 million dollars for more renovations to rick husband international airport.

Over the next two years, the airport will see updates to it's heating and air conditioning system, a new roof, extra eating spots both inside and outside of security check points and completion of a previous project to consolidate terminals.

Twenty percent of the project funds comes out of the city's airport reserve account - which can only be spent on the airport.

The other 80 percent is a mixture between federal funds and a four dollar fifty cent surcharge added to the price of every ticket flying out of Amarillo.
