Police are investigating a text-message scam that hit Amarillo National Bank customers today. This is the third time in three months the bank has been targeted. Phones started going off late last night.
Customers of both Amarillo National Bank and Sprint received this text message - saying your card has been deactivated, call to reactivate. When customers called, they were prompted to enter their debit card information and pin number.
Amarillo National Bank says they have scam under control. And they hope it won't happen again. The Better Business Bureau think the economy might be behind the scams like ones hitting Amarillo National Bank.
The bank says they'd never contact you by text message. Even if they did, they'd already have your account information.
