Consignment Stores Will NOT Close, As Once Feared

A new law regarding lead levels in children's clothes and toys had local consignment shop owners worried for the past twenty four hours, but NewsChannel 10 has learned the law will not affect re-sale shops, as it was originally worded.

Set to go into effect on February 10th, the law would have required all items targeted at children to be tested for lead levels, at a cost of up to $5,000 per item, a cost most small shops could not afford. The law now only applies to major manufacturers.
