The prostate is a small, internal male sexual organ. It is located at the base of the bladder and around the urethra, which is why many prostate problems involve difficulty urinating/ejaculating. The prostate produces fluids that aid sperm transport.
Prostate cancer is a serious threat to men's health, especially in our area. Prostate cancer develops when normal prostate cells mutate, grow at a faster rate, and clump together to form tumors. These cancers can also spread from the prostate to other parts of the body, anywhere from other local tissues, like the colon, or to other organs such as the lungs.
