CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) _ A man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a 10-year-old boy three years ago claims he's innocent.
Noe Torres called a Clovis News Journal reporter yesterday to talk about the case against him.
The 29-year-old Torres has been on the run since the shooting of Carlos Perez on the night of September 15th, 2005.
The child was sleeping next to his brother when he was hit in the head with a bullet, one of several gunshots fired through a bedroom window at the Perez home.
Police have said Carlos' older brother Ruben was the intended target. An investigator with the district attorney's office says nothing new has been revealed by Torres' phone call, and that Torres appears to be trying to gain more notoriety.
