SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN FEB 10th.
APPLY NOW for the Power of Knowledge Scholarships the deadline is February 10, 2012. NewsChannel10 will announce the winners of our Power of Knowledge Scholarships when the selection process has ended and we are notified by The Amarillo Area Foundation.
NewsChannel10 has teamed with area businesses to bring you The Power of Knowledge.
The Scholarships are available to any High School Senior in the KFDA viewing area that will use the money to attend any Post Secondary learning in the same KFDA viewing area. Our goal is to improve the working skills of the young adults in our area. Each Individual partner of NewsChannel 10 can set additional parameters to their particular scholarships.
We recognize the importance of continued education, be it a 4 year degree, 2 year degree, technical training or certificate program.
In fact, it has been shown that even 1 year of higher learning will improve a persons earning power in the work force.
In order to help make higher education more accessible to high school seniors in the Panhandle area, NewsChannel10, and our partners McDonald's of Amarillo and Canyon, Panhandle Restaurant Association, The Amarillo Downtown Lion's Club and Amarillo Area Foundation are driving "The Power of Knowledge Scholarship Program". The 2012 program will provide ($12,000) Twelve thousand dollars to students graduating in the Spring of 2012.
All applicants will also be considered for the more than 102 other scholarships that the Amarillo Area Foundation administers.
