Funeral Set for Amarillo Police Officer

Officer Mark Simmons will be buried with full police honors. Viewing will be all day on Friday, December 19th, at Smith Funeral Home, 210 W 3rd St (3rd and Main), Quanah, TX.  Family will be present from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Services will be at the First United Methodist Church, 1500 S. Main, in Quanah at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 20th. Officer Simmons will be buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, which is north through Quanah on Highway 6 and then east on FM 2640 (Cemetery Road). 

The Amarillo Police Department will escort the funeral procession to Quanah.  If any agency or civilian vehicle wishes to participate in the procession, please meet in the north parking lot of the Amarillo Civic Center, 509 E. 3rd Ave on Saturday 12/20, at 6:45 am. We will have maps available to hand out for the location of the church in case you must drop out of the procession for a short stop. 

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the 100 Club of Amarillo at P.O. Box 589, Amarillo, TX, 79101 (www.100clubofamarillo.org) or to the family through the Benefit Account for Mark Simmons, representative Caroline Simmons, at the Amarillo National Bank.
