38 States Reach Settlement With Toy Company Over Lead Toys

After a dangerous year with lead in many toys, 38 states reached an agreement with Mattel and Fisher-Price to resolve concerns.

Both Texas and New Mexico were involved in the $ 12 million settlement.

Texas will receive about $ 380 thousand.

New Mexico gets $ 205 thousand.

The payments off set the expense the states have paid to investigate lead toys.

Also, the companies are required to keep strict regulations on future toy production.
