Updated: BBQ Joint Busted For Crack-Cocaine

An area barbeque restaurant was swarmed by narcotics officers Thursday afternoon after they found drugs and cash inside.

Police have three people in custody and were still on scene into the evening counting all the drugs and cash they found.

The bust happened at Alexander's Barbeque in the 2800 block of S.E. 27th street.

So far, they have found thousands of dollars in cash and at least one ounce of crack cocaine.

One officer on scene tells us Alexander's has been the focus of an investigation for a while. Cpl. Chris Shelton says, "we'd been investigating it for weeks, and had a warrant signed earlier this week and executed it today."

Police say the three people arrested are the two owners of the restaurant, Dekendrick Alexander, Taushia Cofer, and an employee, John Lee Carter.

They are all charged with multiple drug possession counts.
