Prostate cancer has an alarmingly high incidence rate. The incidence rate is the number of men out of the general population who will be diagnosed with a given disease. The average American man has a 16% chance of being diagnosed with prostate cancer. 1 The incidence rate is 60% higher in African American men, due to both biological and sociological factors. 2
