Barnes Pleads Guilty

He escaped from behind bars in Potter County, and now he will spend at least the next 7 1/2 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Joshua Duane Barnes pleaded guilty Tuesday to four felony counts in Potter County including two counts of Escape and two counts of Burglary of a Habitation.

Barnes received a total of 50 years, but those sentences will run concurrently. Tuesday's sentencing will not begin until he finishes his previous sentence on an Aggravated Assault charge.

The 47th District Attorney says Barnes' escape charges will be a factor in which TDCJ unit he will be held in.
