Michael Dick Autopsies Contradicting

New information about Michael Dick, the man who died while in Potter County Detention Center over the summer. Since Michael's death in July, two autopsies have been conducted.

The first by the state and the second by a private medical examiner. Both autopsies agree that Dick died from peritonitis, which is a severe ulcer. But when it comes to what caused that ulcer, the private autopsy and the one done by the state have very different answers.

The private autopsy concludes the ulcer that killed him was caused by blunt force trauma, which the Dick family lawyers, Jeff Blackburn and Chris Hoffman, say happened at the hands of jail employees. The private autopsy was ordered because the lawyers doubted the accuracy of the state's results, which say the ulcer was caused by a pre-existing condition, not by any wrong doing at the jail.
