Mother Fined for Child's Excessive School Absences

After allowing her children to miss more than twenty days of school in one year, a Clovis mother is court ordered to attend parenting classes. Nicole Pitock must pay a $167 fine as well. This is Pitcock's first attendance offense, but if she allows her children to have excessive absences again, she could face up to six months in jail and a $500 fine. Any student who misses more than days days without an excuse is considered an habitual truant.
