A native Texan, Allan was born and raised in the Amarillo area. A graduate of Canyon High School he also attended West Texas State University and earned his Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
No stranger to severe weather he started storm chasing at age 16 and has experienced virtually every kind of nasty weather the panhandles has to offer. In fact, it was his storm-chasing that launched his career in TV.
He joined KFDA in 1992 as a news photographer and severe weather chaser and went on air as a Broadcast Meteorologist in 2002. Allan has also worked for another Television station in the area in the mid 90s and KXXV-TV in Waco in 2007 and 2008 gaining valuable experience with severe weather coverage and forecasting.
"When the opportunity arose to come back to my home town, join the NewsChannel 10 Storm Track Weather Team, and continue my career serving the people of the panhandles, I couldn't have been happier! This is the best place in the world to work and live, we have the nicest people and some of the most challenging weather on the planet. Who could ask for more."
