Threatening Letters Say It's "Payback Time"

The FBI says threatening letters sent to banks across the country from Amarillo declare it's payback time.

More than 50 letters filled with white powder were mailed to Chase banks and federal regulatory offices in 11 cities this week.

The letters accused banks of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from people and threatened to kill the readers within 10 days.

So far the powder has tested negative for dangerous toxins.

The US Postal Service is offering a reward up to $100,000 for helping arrest those who mailed the letters.
