More Than 6 Inches of Rain for Panhandle

Parts of the panhandle saw more than seven inches of rain over the past four days. Here in Amarillo, we saw between one and half and two inches of rain these past few days, but it's all of the rain that fell just west of us that is helping out Lake Meredith.

In just the past month, lake levels have gone up quite a bit. CRMWA's Chad Pernell says, "We're around 50 and a half feet right now which is roughly five feet more than where we were just about a month or two ago so relatively speaking we're doing better than what we were."

As recent as 2000, we were at 90 something feet so if we could get up to that level we'd feel a lot better for sure.
