Inmate Escape Tactic Confirmed

The Potter County Sheriff's Department is confirming how an inmate escaped from the jail.

Joshua Duane Barnes climbed a thirteen and a half foot wall during his outside recreation time on Saturday. Barnes used a support post located in the corner or the area to dislodge a support bracket from the roof.

He then used the bracket to pull the chain link from the wall, ran along the roof and jumped to the ground.

Barnes may have received outside help in his escape. The investigation is continuing.
