Frank and Becky Foster stepped out in faith, they both quit their jobs in teaching and the oil and gas industry to help at risk children through Equine Therapy. Some of the things they help youth with are substance abuse, leadership skills and relationships. It depends on what the child needs. Becky and Frank told us this is a dream for them.
The Fosters practice Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and learning. EAP is a very effective brief therapy. They serve school, church and residential groups. Their main focus is At Risk children who may or may not see a counselor, kids that need a little extra loving care. Children respond to horses much differently than any other animal. The Fosters tell us that this has been an exciting and scary journey making this all work. They hope that all children whether they have troubles or not, need a place to come and relax and feel good.
Good luck to the Fosters. Just another reason why Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle is a positive place to be.
