Clovis Mom Suspected of Forging Doctors Notes

The Clovis Police Department are looking into a case involving a mother who is suspected of forging more than a dozen doctors notes to keep her daughter out of elementary school.

Clovis Municipal Schools handed over 14 doctors notes that are suspected of being forged.

The notes are from doctors offices in Clovis, and as far as Amarillo and Fort Sumner.

The child has missed 50 days of school since November of 2007, 45 are believed to have been excused from the forged notes.

The woman has yet to be arrested and charged but officers say she could face up to 14 felony counts of forgery and child neglect.
