The third salmonella outbreak in three months is being linked to the IHOP on I-40 and Western.

The City Health Department says there are ten cases of salmonella under investigation with seven linked to meals served at the restaurant.

The District Vice President Robert Tomlinson says the cause of the outbreak is unknown. "We're going to work the Health Department, work closely with them. Take their recommendations. We are going to bring in outside consultants, but ultimately it's going to come down to me working with the health department to make sure we're making the best possible decisions."

Tomlinson says the restaurant will be closed until he is confident it is a safe place to eat. "This is a very unique situation something that we've never seen before and we're going to treat this very delicately. We want to make sure we're doing the right thing. It's been almost 3 months and we're looking at something's very odd."

Between Father's Day and the start of July more than 90 cases of salmonella were reported in the area.
