Winning With Asthma

A free on-line program dealing with children who have asthma could help coaches and teachers better understand the disease.

Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins urged all coaches and teachers to participate in the program.

She points out the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says Asthma is the third leading cause of hospitalization among children under 15 years old.

She said they created the "Winning with Asthma" program so coaches could learn about asthma, how it affects an athlete's ability to compete, and how they can help athletes manage their symptoms.
