Plea Agreement Reached in 2004 Shooting Death

A plea agreement was reached Tuesday for a woman accused of shooting her boyfriend near Amarillo in 2004.

The Randall County District Attorney's office says Dana Quincy agreed to Manslaughter rather than Murder at a hearing Tuesday morning.

The body of Michael Andrew Jones was discovered by a passerby southwest of Bushland in May of 2004. Investigators believe Quincy and the victim had an on-again off-again relationship.

She was arrested nearly two years after the shooting when firearms evidence connected her to the case.

Quincy must serve at least half of her eight year sentence before she is eligible for parole.
