Protest Over Lower Drinking Age Discussion

Local anti-drinking organizations are protesting the discussion of lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18.

Today Impact Futures and the Joint Alliance of Students spoke out against the proposal signed by West Texas A & M University President Pat O'Brien.

Impact Futures says alcohol is already the leading cause of death among teens and lowering the drinking age will contribute to even more teen deaths.

The advisor of Impact Futures also says that even though teenagers are allowed to vote and join the military they are not mature enough to drink responsibly.
