There are a lot of changes planned in the near future for Amarillo's Fire Department. They're expected to add 2 new fire stations valued at 2 and a half million dollars each.
One station will be located south of the Woodland Elementary School and the location of the second one is still in the air, but there are talks about the south Georgia and 58th Street area.
The department is also renovating 5 of the current stations as well as expanding the downtown one to accommodate a 100 foot ladder truck.
The department already is training fire fighters from the Randall County area for the new Woodland area station.
