Burn Ban Lifted in Cimarron & Texas Counties

A burn ban has been lifted for Cimarron and Texas counties in the Oklahoma panhandle.

The Oklahoma forestry service says recent rains and cooler temperatures have made it much safer to burn.

Drought conditions are being compared to the dust bowl of the 1930's according to local and state officials.

If you need to report a control burn or have questions of the lifted burn ban contact the Guymon fire department at 580-338-5536.
