Handling the stress of trying to become Amarillo's finest... 26 cadets are doing just that and tonight we hear from some of them.
For weeks they have been training...
"I thought I was in shape, but compared to the pt that we go through - it's difficult but it's getting better." Cadet Gutierrez says.
It's not just listening and learning... But juggling life outside of the classroom.
Cadet Tollerson says, "The most difficult thing for me is making sure than I go home, because I have a family and kids, making sure I go home and do the things i need to do in the evening away from here."
Cadets say their passion for becoming officers increases as the weeks go by...
Gutierrez says, "I know there is a lot of people that are in tough situations and my main goal is to go out there and see what I can do. Especially victims, I know many people are victimized and I just want to get the guys off the streets, and try to make it a little bit safer."
Tollerson says,"I want to make a difference in my community. I know that a lot of people will be counting on me everyday to come in do my job."
