Renewable Energy to Be Produced in the Panhandle

By the end of March of 2009, a new energy plant will be up and running.

The company funding it, New York-based Microgy, plans to take cow manure from the Cnossen Dairy Farm and convert it into a renewable energy source.

Among other things that energy can be used to heat and cool our homes. The Texas Agricultural Commissioner says this process is vital as we try to shift away from oil dependency.

There are about one hundred projects like this one all over the U.S. including one in Dublin, Texas and Stephenville.
