The Salvation Army's Homeless Prevention Program has $30,000 dollars to share with the community.
Money is available for Amarillo residents needing short term financial assistance for rent, deposits or utilities that are getting cut off. Money is also available for things like the first months rent or a security deposit to help homeless and families get back into housing.
You must provide income verification, rent or deposit verification your drivers licence or I.D.,social security cards and the utility termination or mortgage foreclosure depending on your situation.
The grants are first come first serve basis. You can go by the Salvation Army at 400 S. Harrison or the City's Community Development Room 104 at City Hall, 509 S.E. 8th Avenue.
