Restraining Order Continues on CRP land

A federal judge in Seattle today ordered the U.S Department of Agriculture and members of the National Wildlife Federation to compromise over the Critical Feed Program on Conservation Reserve Program land.

U.S. District Judge John Coughenour is keeping a temporary restraining order on the Critical Feed Program.

The program was put in place by the USDA to allow farmers to graze and hay private conservation land in order to help farmers and ranchers through drought and high feed prices.

Coughenour gave both sides until noon tuesday to work out the compromise. He also promised to issue an order by the end of next week implementing a modified version of the Critical Feed Use program nationwide.
