330 Salmonella Cases in Texas

More than 300 Texas residents have contracted salmonella poisoning from tomatoes.

The State Health Department says those cases are since mid-April.

Officials say they are still looking for the source of the salmonella outbreak, and are hoping that tracking these cases will lead to a breakthrough.

The Food and Drug Administration is advising consumers to limit their tomato consumption to those not likely to be part of the outbreak. This includes cherry tomatoes; grape tomatoes; and tomatoes with the vine still attached.

Right now officials say to avoid raw red plum, red roma or red round tomatoes, unless they have been grown in area's cleared by the investigation.
