Dumas Noon Lions Dogie Days

The 62nd Annual Dumas Dogie Days has started and will run thru Saturday.

The 1st Dogie Days was in 1930 when Moore County Ranchers got together to eat BBQ and talk about good times. The Dumas Noon Lions club took over the annual event in 1947.

The group netted over 75,000 dollars last year and put it all toward local charities. Dr. David Bonner is this years head wrangler .

His daughter Alison is the incoming Dumas Noon Lions Club Sweetheart, together the two will spend a year helping the club help the Dumas Community.

Last years celebration netted 75,000 for local charities like Meals on Wheels, Leader Dogs for the Blind just to name a few.

The club tells us that food prices have not gone up, you can get a world famous Dogie Day Burger for $3.00 and Rooster Eggs , the best dessert  on the Midway are a $1.00 a bag.

The Parade this year is" Go Green for Dogie Days", the Parade will run down 287  in Downtown Dumas starting at 11:00 am Saturday.

Hope to see you in Dumas this weekend , its the best time in the Panhandle.
